It is with deep regret that we have to announce the sad passing of Dougie Dickason 54A on Saturday 30th July 2016. He worked tirelessly to re-establish the Association after it had been left to decline and finally achieved his goal with the Reunion and AGM week-end in October 1999. He remained as Hon. Secretary for 9 years and has taken a great interest in its administration since standing down. Our sympathies are with his wife Sheila and family.

It is with deep regret that we have to announce the sad passing of George Ient on 13h March 2017
George joined the Army Apprentice School at the age of 15 in 1952. He served with the Armed Forces, firstly as an army apprentice and then in the Corps of Royal Signals. George suffered serious injuries to both legs in a civilian accident in Malaya whilst on military service there and was medically discharged in 1961. Some years later George returned to service with HM government with the MoD Navy Department as part of the telecoms team.

It is with deep regret that we have to announce the sad passing of Robin Barrett 57A on the 20th January 2017.
He served with the Royal Engineers Field Survey units mainly in the Middle East until leaving the Army in 1968.
He then went on to join Local Government as a Town and Country Planning Officer.
His funeral is to be held on 14th February 2017 at 13:30 hrs at St Peters Church, Dorchester DT1 1XA.

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Barry Moody MBE on 6th January 2017, the Associations Standard Bearer. He served as a Radio Tech (heavy) during the Malayan Insurgence and awarded the GSM Malaya. He completed tours in the AWC Transmitter site Chin Bee, Singapore followed by COMCAN Malta Transmitter Site at Fort Zonkor. He finished his service with the colours in 1960 as a S/Sgt.
The Service will take place at:

Thursday 19th January at 1.30pm,
And will be followed by another short service at Octon Crematorium

It is with deep regret that we have to announce the sad passing of William T Bramall, 60c 1st Dec 2016.
He trained at Harrogate as a Royal Signals Radio Operator from Sept 60 until Feb 1962, when for some reason he decided to transfer to the Royal Army Pay Corps.
He served in the Pay Corp until 1988 reaching the rank of WO1 when he was demobbed and joined 21 SAS Regt (Reserve) as a PSAO where he served until 2003 and reached the rank of Major (reserve).
He was awarded medals, GSM (NI), Silver Jubilee, Golden Jubilee, Accum. Campaign Service, LS & GC, Volunteer Reserve Service Medal.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dick Woodfine, who served in the Corps from 1973 until 1995.
Dicks final posting was at the Army Apprentice College in Harrogate.

Membership of the Association is open to ALL Ex Harrogate Apprentices and permanent staff, both military and civilian. A yearly subscription is paid to assist the running of the Association.
As agreed at the 2007 AGM yearly subs will be £8.00 as from 1st Jan 2009. £2 per member will be donated to the Army Benevolent Fund.
