Part of my duties as treasurer is the ongoing stewardship of the memorabilia. As decided at the 2013 AGM we no longer issue the membership card on an annual basis in an effort to minimise costs to AOHA. I was therefore considering adding our very own challenge coin to the memorabilia as I think it would make a very nice memento.
As you can see from the attached artwork it is a very simple design on a 44mm gold coin. The Old Harrogate Boys badge on the front needs no explanation. The 6 badges on the rear remind us of the many tradesmen who were trained at Harrogate School/College with the dates of inception and final demise. The six badges are not in order of seniority as that did make the presentation imbalanced. With the Royal Signals third in order the “Jimmy” and his crown pushed the dates off centre. Each coin comes encased in a protective capsule and is then wrapped in plastic.
The purpose of this email is to canvass the level of support for this new initiative. I would only sell the coins to members and the price would be £9 + £1 P&P. To be able to sell at this very reasonable price I would have to place an order for 100.
Therefore before I consider going ahead with the order I would ask that you register your support with a return email.
